Certificate in Project Management Professional
What is Project Management?
Project management is the process in which organizational skills are used to ensure that a project is completed successfully, starting from a definite beginning and working towards a defined end. All organizations, whether it is an established business or a corner café, take on certain projects at some time or another, so having someone on your staff who understands the basic principles of Project Management, is to every employer’s benefit.
Over the years, Product Management has evolved from a term merely describing the oversight of a specific project to a broader approach focusing on operations in general and managing an organization as a whole. Project Managers therefore need good people-skills, as their role is to delegate duties and coordinate the successful completion of a specific project. Other attributes that are crucial is the ability to work under pressure, having a creative mind, being adaptable and most important of all, demonstrating excellent skills in organization. As Project Managers oversee all aspects of a task, they need to plan everything in great detail, keeping factors such as budgets, available resources, individual abilities, timeframes, schedules and end-goals in mind at all times. The function of a Project Manager could be compared to that of a human brain: all the body parts perform unique functions – without which one cannot survive – but the brain has to control these functions to ensure that there is order and proper coordination. In other words, not only does it send out all the messages to the right places, but it then also needs to make sure that each body part does what it is supposed to do, at the right time, in the right way.
