WHY SHOULD I STUDY FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES?
An International Food and Beverage Service qualification is for anyone working - or planning to work - in the catering industry, particularly if you want to work in a range of countries.
It is ideal for you if you are looking for your first job in the catering industry and you need to learn the basics. The Certificate programme provides a broad introduction to the theory and practical sides of food service, giving the necessary knowledge and practical experience to operate as a front line worker in a typical service outlet.
An internationally recognised qualification in Food and Beverage Service is recommended if you want a job in the catering industry in South Africa (and overseas). The following types are typical of this field:

Please Note: Until further notice, all three courses are only available to students living in Gauteng, South Africa. For the Foundation level and Proficiency level courses, candidates must attend an assessment at an approved City and Guilds centre. Similarly with the Certificate course, students must write their exams at an approved City and Guilds exam centre.
